Jardines de Palerm feels a million miles away from the brashness of central Ibiza, yet still close enough to drive in and get your own midnight dose. Arranged along a rambling hillside, visitors arrive to a hush-hush entrance and gravel path off a small lobby humming with espresso brewing and guests getting their WiFi fix. Owned by fashion photographer Christophe Brihet and his wife Cristina, the hotel is constructed within a 17th Century estate that now contains 12 stylish rooms and villa-style suite. Two architectural infinity pools couldn't be more different with one secluded at the far reaches of the property lined in sexy white loungers between mature shade trees and blossoming jasmine bushes. The other flanking the largest suite with cantilevered edge - popular with families with children or staff in tow.
The Room
A series of freestanding pavilions mix elements of the original estate with cutting edge architecture of new Ibiza complete with smooth plaster walls interrupted with shiny stainless steel and glass sliding doors. Inside you’ll, crisp living spaces of a minimalist but evolved design aesthetic mix concrete floors with platforms beds and marble showers. Like a private villa in a relaxed hotel setting, days are spent in private courtyards enjoying the homemade breakfast served till a late 4pm followed by communal early evening cocktails that usually includes an owner or manager as well as a few hotel guests. The removed location of the hotel, as with most in Ibiza’s better areas, requires a rental car to get pretty much everywhere.
